      Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Bavaria Beavers Puts the Sting on Marvmagic and Wins League Consolation Championship

Bavaria Beavers dismantled Marvmagic 133.70 to 89.66 while putting up the seventh-highest score of the season. Bavaria Beavers took an 80.90-point lead on Thursday and remained in front for the rest of the matchup. Bavaria Beavers has played Marvmagic well lately, improving to 2-1 head-to-head this season, including a Week 12 comeback (82.08 to 73.98) in their last matchup. Baker Mayfield brought in the second-highest score in the league this week with 34.56 points (359 Pas Yds, 5 TD) for Marvmagic. Bavaria Beavers started one player with zero points while Marvmagic served up two goose eggs, meaning both sides missed scoring opportunities.

Achane had plenty of opportunities for Marvmagic, but could only manage 38 total yards on 12 touches.

In addition to the fantasy W, Bavaria Beavers was savvy enough to choose winners in real football, as well. Among all of their starters, Alvin Kamara is the only one that didn't suit up on a winning NFL team in Week 17. Additionally, with 12 targets this week for Tee Higgins, it means that his targets have now increased in three consecutive games.

For the victors, several players have been getting hot in the playoffs, most notably Higgins and the Kansas City Chiefs DEF. During the playoffs, that duo has topped their season scoring averages by 78% and 58%, respectively. Conversely, Bavaria Beavers has a player moving in the wrong direction. Kamara has fallen well beneath his year-to-date average in the postseason by 100%. Despite the loss, Marvmagic also had a few players performing their best in the playoffs, including DeVonta Smith and Mayfield. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 14.55 and 28.44 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 63% and 38%. On the other hand, the losers had a few players who struggled in the playoff spotlight, most notably David Montgomery and David Njoku.

Bavaria Beavers wrapped up the regular season in seventh place with a record of 7-8. From a points per game perspective, they ranked slightly better (sixth with 89.75). In their only other postseason game on their path to the consolation championship, Bavaria Beavers defeated Eagles, 98.20 to 92.64. Marvmagic concluded the regular season in fifth place with a record of 7-8. They also ranked fifth in the league with 94.67 points per game. In their only other postseason game of the season, Marvmagic destroyed Timopeng, 107.32 to 63.84.
