Week 15 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Scandinavian Stars Creeps By Dublin Bay Prawns to Advance to Semifinals

Scandinavian Stars got 25.90 points from Jahmyr Gibbs (31 Rsh Yds, 83 Rec Yds, 1 Rsh TD, 1 Rec TD) and 22.80 from Terry McLaurin (73 Rec Yds, 2 TD), slipping by Dublin Bay Prawns 119.50 to 119.04. This tight win was revenge for a loss to Dublin Bay Prawns in their last meeting a season ago. Dublin Bay Prawns was led by Chase Brown with 24.80 points (97 Rsh Yds, 1 Rsh TD, 1 Rec TD) and Jayden Daniels, who scored 23.64 (226 Pas Yds, 66 Rsh Yds, 2 TD). The result might have been even worse as Scandinavian Stars had a starter score zero points (Jaylen Waddle).

Dublin Bay Prawns had one important player that missed out on some opportunities. Despite being targeted seven times, Tyreek Hill could only manage two catches.

For the winners, a couple of players have been playing their best at the right time: Jonnu Smith and Jaylen Waddle. Over the past four weeks, that duo has exceeded their season scoring averages by 57% and 50%, respectively. Despite the playoff loss, Brown was playing well during the stretch run for Dublin Bay Prawns. Over the last four games, he has averaged 20.10 points, exceeding his year-to-date number by 44%.

After a steady campaign, Scandinavian Stars slipped into the playoffs as the No. 8 seed. They advance to the semifinals where they meet No. 4-seeded Guatemala City Tamales. These teams most recently clashed in Week 5, with Guatemala City Tamales winning, 147.76 to 121.86. Dublin Bay Prawns wrapped up the regular season in first place with a record of 11-3. With a scoring average of 124.88, they also placed second in the league in that metric. Dublin Bay Prawns was bounced early this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup. They had the league's best average scoring margin this season, outperforming opponents by 18.12 points per game.
