Welch signed with the Packers on...
Welch signed with the Packers on Friday, Zach Kruse of USA Today reports.
Analysis: Welch previously played for Green Bay in 2023, when he appeared in 14 regular-season games exclusively as a special-teamer. The veteran linebacker saw time in 2024 with Baltimore and Denver, again working primarily in a special-teams role. Welch will likely reprise his status as a core special-teamer with the Packers next season but could log occasional defensive snaps as a depth linebacker.
Charles (knee) re-signed with the Jets...
Charles (knee) re-signed with the Jets on Friday, Howard Balzer of USA Today reports.
Analysis: Charles entered the offseason as an exclusive-rights free agent and was tendered by the Jets in early March, so Friday's signing was essentially a formality. Charles tore his ACL in Week 14 of last season and finished the year on IR, and it's not clear if he'll be ready to play by the start of the 2025 campaign. He did most of his work last season on special teams, logging 212 snaps with that unit versus just nine on offense over 13 games.
The Patriots released Bentley (pectoral) on...
The Patriots released Bentley (pectoral) on Friday with a failed physical designation, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Bentley stated in mid-March that he has received full medical clearance after missing most of the 2024 campaign due to a pectoral tear suffered Week 2, but being released with a failed physical designation is an indication that the veteran linebacker isn't back to full health yet. Now a free agent, Bentley may have to wait until he's able to demonstrate a readiness to return to on-field activities before finding his next landing spot.
The Falcons are signing Quitoriano (calf)...
The Falcons are signing Quitoriano (calf) on Friday after hosting him for a workout, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Quitoriano was limited to seven-regular season appearances with Houston in 2024 before sustaining a calf injury. He didn't record any receptions in that span. Now having proved his healthy via a workout with Atlanta, Quitoriano will spend the offseason competing to secure another reserve gig.
The Raiders are signing White to...
The Raiders are signing White to a one-year contract Friday, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis: White reunites with general manager John Spytek, who was Tampa Bay's director of player personnel when the Buccaneers made White a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The veteran linebacker began the 2024 season with Philadelphia, but he didn't appear in a game with the Eagles before being cut, then landing in Houston. He appeared in seven-regular season contests with the Texans but sat out the team's two playoff matchups. White will now compete to rebound with the Raiders, with Las Vegas in dire need of playmakers in the linebacker corps.
