Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Toronto Bandits Tops Guatemala City Tamales, Has Their Number

Toronto Bandits beat Guatemala City Tamales 114.44 to 109.16 for their second win in as many head-to-head matchups. Their overall record goes to 12-5, while Guatemala City Tamales drops to 10-7. Guatemala City Tamales just can't win against Toronto Bandits, who pushed their career unbeaten streak to three games. Bijan Robinson scored two touchdowns and was the winning factor this week, getting 23.30 points for Toronto Bandits. The Atlanta RB has lived up to his draft position for Toronto Bandits, putting up 17.68 points per game. Both sides missed scoring opportunities as Toronto Bandits had one starter turn in zero points and Guatemala City Tamales also had one.

Mattison had plenty of opportunities for Guatemala City Tamales, but could only manage 38 total yards on 11 touches. One position where Guatemala City Tamales really made a regrettable decision is wide receiver. Jameson Williams could have started in place of Cooper Kupp, and that point difference could have changed the outcome.

Despite the loss, Guatemala City Tamales had several players performing their best in the playoffs, most notably the Atlanta Falcons DEF and Chase McLaughlin. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 21.00 and 11.33 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 90% and 43%. On the other hand, the losers had a few players who struggled in the playoff spotlight, including Kupp and Kenneth Walker III.
