      • Puget Sound Salamanders won this week, even without starting a top-15 scoring QB.
      • Adirondacks Waffles has now beaten their projected score four weeks in a row.
      • Florida Seals continues defying the pundits, and has beaten their projected score four weeks in a row.
      • No surprise here: teams have won 83.3% of the time this season when starting the league's top-scoring QB of the week (10-2 overall).

      • Teams have won a mere 32.1% of the time this season (9-19) when they fail to throw a Pass TD.

      Week 17 Recap: Tuesday Edition

Behind Three Big Performances, Clinton Throat-Punches Auggies

The trio of Tee Higgins, Brock Purdy, and the Philadelphia Eagles DEF carried the team, as Clinton tore apart Auggies 162.28 to 110.56. That threesome combined to tally 89.38 points, significantly outperforming the top scorers from Auggies (Bo Nix, Tyreek Hill, and Courtland Sutton), who totaled 57.86 points. Higgins scored three touchdowns, adding 40.10 points (131 Rec Yds, 3 TD). Purdy came through with 377 passing yards to contribute 30.28 points (377 Pas Yds, 3 Pas TD/2 Int, 1 Rsh TD), while the Eagles D helped out with 19.00 points (7 PA, 1 TD, 1 Sack, 2 Int, 2 Fum). Higgins also recorded the highest point total in the league this week, with Purdy tallying his highest point total of the season. The 51.72-point win for Clinton was the seventh-largest in the league this year.

There was one starter on Auggies that missed out on some chances. Despite being targeted seven times, George Pickens could manage just three catches.

With 12 targets this week for Higgins, it means that his targets have now increased in three consecutive games.

For the victorious side, several players have been late-season stars, most notably the Cincinnati WR and the Eagles D. During the playoffs, that duo has topped their season scoring averages by 160% and 82%, respectively. Auggies had two players who were cooling off in the playoffs: George Pickens and Javonte Williams. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 4.00 and 7.15 points, respectively, falling short of their season-long marks by 61% and 26%.
